You've Got to Let Go
By Berg

Maggie smiled. She loved the window seat. Though…aside from her flight to Paris and her flight out- this was only her third time being on a plane. "Is this seat C?" the older woman asked. Maggie looked up.

"It is."

"Oh thank goodness," she replied. "I always have the hardest time finding my seat on these planes."

"Well you got lucky."

The older woman took her seat. "My name's Cecilia. But you can call me Cece."

"Maggie," Maggie extended her hand.

"Flights not too crowded is it?" Cece said looking down at the boarding passengers. "I didn't see too many in the terminal."

"Red eye's aren't always the most popular I guess."

"Only way to fly I say," Cece smiled. "Cheaper too."

Maggie laughed.

"So now are you on your way to Paris for the first time?" Cece asked.

"No actually I'm heading home." Home. It felt nice saying that.

"Oh but you're American?" Cece asked confused.

"Yes I'm American. I live in Paris. Just moved there about five months ago actually."

"Oh. Wonderful. This is my first time to Paris. My kids sent me on this over seas trip. I'm very excited."

"You'll love it," Maggie smiled warmly. She was caught in the memories of the first few weeks they had arrived. She Bianca and Miranda had taken in many attractions and sites. "It's beautiful."

"And good wine," Cece winked.

I'll be your dream
I'll be your wish
I'll be your fantasy.
I'll be your hope
I'll be your love
Be everything that you need.

"You okay?" Cece asked as the night carried on.

"Yeah," Maggie nodded. "I just can't wait to get home and see my friend."

"Boyfriend?" Cece asked.

"No. her name's Bianca," Maggie smiled.

"That's such a lovely name. It's not common either."

"She's about as uncommon as her name," Maggie smiled. "She's one of the most amazing people I know."

"Best friend?"

"No one else could hold a torch."

"So she lives near you?"

"No we live together," Maggie smiled. "It's the two of us and her daughter."

"Her husband's not in the picture?"

"Oh no," Maggie shook her head. "Bianca's not with any man. She's…gay."

Maggie suddenly wasn't sure if she was over sharing. Her experience with older people was that they were not always the most open minded of types.

"My son John and his partner have been together for 13 years."

"That's wonderful."

"So…Bianca and her daughter live with you."

"Yes."

"And you…are you two…a couple?" Cece asked. She paused and noticed Maggie shift. "I'm sorry. I'm being too nosey. I apologize. It's none of my business."

Maggie felt a heat rise in her cheeks. "You're not the only one who wonders that."

"About you and Bianca?"

"Yeah."

"Do you love her?" Cece asked.

"Like I've never love another person," Maggie smiled. "She means the world to me. Her daughter too."

"Bianca wants more?" Cece guessed.

"Yeah," Maggie nodded.

"But you don't?"

"I do. I don't. I'm still kind of confused."

"I see."

Maggie sipped her soda. "Our situation is complicated I guess."

"How so?" Cece asked sipping her own.

"Every time there's been an attempt on either of our parts…the other one is with someone else."

"Well sweetheart," Cece laughed. "Show me a true love that wasn't filled with some difficult past. That's what being in love is about. You throw caution to the wind. You just let go."

"I've tried," Maggie said. "Once we were eating dinner. Miranda got sauce all over the table and Bianca. We were cleaning up. She had this sauce on her lip and chin. I wiped it with my thumb. And I was so close. I just wanted to kiss her…tell her I love her. I had to…to…"

"Let go."

"Yeah."

"Can I give you some advice?"

"Of course."

"Let go. Don't wait. If you wait for the right moment…it may never come. You know in your heart when you're ready. And if she loves you like I suspect she does…she'll be waiting."

I love you more with every breath
Truly madly deeply do..
I will be strong I will be faithful
'Cos I'm counting on a new beginning.
A reason for living.
A deeper meaning.

I want to stand with you on a mountain.
I want to bathe with you in the sea.
I want to lay like this forever.
Until the sky falls down on me...

Passengers got off the plane, filing out two and three at a time. Her carry bag on her shoulder Maggie bid goodbye to Cece and smiled. "Nice to meet you."

"Same here."

Walking down the lane Maggie wondered what time the Cambius Limo would pick her up.

"Look who I see Miranda…It's Mags!"

Maggie looked up and smiled. "Bianca," she started running to her friend. Two weeks were two weeks too many.

"We came to welcome you home," Bianca laughed as Miranda started clapping seeing Maggie.

Maggie leaned down and kissed the little girl. She looked up and wrapped Bianca in a hug. "God I missed you guys so much."

"How was the visit?" Bianca smiled. Maggie still had her wrapped up in her arms.

"Good. But it's nice to be home."

"Home huh?" Bianca smiled. "Paris is your new home now."

"No," Maggie shook her head. "You are."

Bianca felt a blush crawl up the side of her neck. "Welcome home."

Maggie pulled back.

"Bianca?"

"Yeah?"

"I need to let go."

"Well we can get someone to carry your bag if it's heavy," Bianca began looking around. Maggie only smiled.

"Let go," she whispered and leaned forward. She caught Bianca by surprise, taking only a second before deepening the kiss as Bianca relaxed in her embrace. Slowly she pulled back.

Bianca smiled and kissed Maggie again. "Welcome home."

And when the stars are shining brightly
In the velvet sky,
I'll make a wish
Send it to heaven
Then make you want to cry..
The tears of joy
For all the pleasure and the certainty.
That we're surrounded
By the comfort and protection of..
The highest power.
In lonely hours.
The tears devour you..
I want to stand with you on a mountain,
I want to bathe with you in the sea.
I want to lay like this forever,
Until the sky falls down on me...

Oh can't you see it baby?
You don't have to close your eyes
'Cos it's standing right before you.
All that you need will surely come...

Cece watched from a distance and smiled.

"You go kid."
