DISCLAIMER: Main characters not mine, I'm just borrowing. I promise to return them intact, though Olivia and Alex may be a bit tired. Don't own John Daniels, Lou Garvan or Pam Robertson either, come to think of it :p
AUTHOR'S NOTE: Decided in the course of my current series that Olivia needed some TLC. However, at the point I am in the series, it's not likely given Elliot is still married, she's just friends with Alex and her boyfriend just died so... My first femslash piece, comments? Suggestions? I'm thinking of writing another one along similar lines, with Olivia as the caretaker.
SPOILERS: No spoilers, but pretend Loss never happened so Cabot is still there and she and Olivia are involved. Not much in the way of plot, Olivia just needs (and gets!) some TLC. NC-17, oh yes. F/F action. Don't like F/F, don't read it then.

A Lover's Touch
By SKingList

Olivia looked up from the files she'd been trying to go over, and the room started to spin. Again. She took a deep breath, and waited for it to stop spinning. She'd been feeling lousy all day, but it was getting worse. This morning, when Elliot asked if she was OK, she explained it away as a cold, but now everything hurt, and she had a horrible headache. This was pointless.

She stood, and looked around the room. Elliot had gone down to check some old files-he'd be back shortly. Fin and Munch had been sent out to follow up with John Daniels, a name that had come up as they were investigating the Robertson case. Slowly, she crossed the squad room to the Captain's office. She knocked softly on his open door.

Cragen looked up, "Come on in Olivia." Looking her over as she took a seat, he asked, "What's the matter? Are you sick?"

Olivia nodded, quickly realising that was a bad idea as it made her head spin again. "I tried to make it through the day, but I can't. I'm sorry."

"It's OK, Liv. You're allowed to be sick." Checking his watch, he continued, "It's almost 4:00 anyway. Go home and take care of yourself."

"Thanks," Olivia said. "I'll take a few files home with me, and if I'm feeling better later..."

"No, you won't," Cragen said, firmly. "Go home and go to bed. Unless you're feeling 100% better tomorrow, I don't want to see you then either. You need to take care of yourself. I'm worried about you."

"Don't," Olivia said. "I'm OK, just a bit worn out."

"Which is exactly why you need to rest. Come on, I'll take you home."

Olivia shook her head. "You're swamped," she said, indicating the piles on his desk. "I'll be OK in a cab."

"Are you sure?"

Olivia nodded. "But thank you. I'll call you in the morning to let you know if I'll be in."

"And please call me if you need anything in the mean time."

"I will." Olivia went to stand, when Elliot appeared in Cragen's door.

"There you are," he said. "I came back to the empty room and wondered what I'd missed. I wondered where everyone went."

Olivia forced a smile. "Hiding from you, of course."

As she left the office, she heard Cragen ask Elliot, "Find anything?"

"Yeah, one or two that may be related. I need to go over the details."

"Keep me posted, but do me a favour first?"

"Sure."

"Take Olivia home? I offered and she said she'd be fine in a cab, but I'd prefer someone see her home."

"Of course," Elliot said, turning to the door. "I'll be back as soon as I do." He'd known she felt worse than she'd let on, but he'd known better than to push her.

Walking out to their desk, Elliot observed Olivia standing behind the desk, looking at the floor and holding onto her chair. "Come on," he said, gently.

"I'm OK," she protested. "Do what you need to do. I'll get a cab."

"Per Cragen, what I need to do is take you home," Elliot said with a smile. "Let's go," he added, putting his arm around her waist. When she let go of the chair, he picked up her jacket and handed it to her.

"Thanks," she said. She didn't have the energy to fight with him. She just wanted to go home to bed. She tried to think of whether Alex had a late meeting, but couldn't remember. 'I'll call her from the car,' she thought.

Elliot walked slowly; he could tell how woozy she was. "Do you need me to stop to pick up anything?" he asked.

"No, thanks. I'm just going to curl up in bed." As they got into the car, Olivia said, "I'm sorry that I was of essentially no help today."

"Don't worry about it," Elliot said honestly. "I think we're close. Was there anything in the files you were going over?"

"You mean in the one paragraph I got through?" Olivia asked with a smile. "I told Cragen I'd try to do some work from home, but he told me not to."

"You need to rest," Elliot agreed.

"That sounds familiar," Olivia said. She wanted to laugh, but laughing made her headache worse. She reached for her phone and pressed the speed dial for Alex. When the call went straight to voice mail, she realised that she must still be in court. When the recording finished, she said, "It's me. It's about 4 and I'm on my way home, still not feeling great. I'll see you later if you come by, otherwise I'll talk to you." Hanging up, she closed her eyes and leaned her head back against the seat. She loved her independence, but part of her hoped Alex would come. Tonight, she wouldn't mind some TLC. They'd been at Alex's more often than not lately, but Olivia wanted to be in her own bed when she wasn't feeling well.

Their relationship had developed at a comfortable pace for both of them. Olivia knew she certainly hadn't been looking for a relationship at the time, and later learnt that Alex hadn't been either. They'd now been together about six months, and while they both still cherished their personal space, they spent more and more time together. Sometimes taking in the sites of the city, but other times enjoying a quiet night in.

Of course, they'd had to deal with some issues at work, but it wasn't really anything worse than they had to deal with in the course of being females in what was traditionally a male environment anyway. Fin, Munch, Elliot and Cragen all knew about the relationship, and above all they were glad to know Olivia was happy. Some of Alex's colleagues at the DA's office knew, others didn't. Liz had tried to warn her earlier about risking the DA seat, but Alex had learned that there were more important things in the world than politics, and spending time with Olivia was one of them.

Olivia and Elliot rode to her apartment in a comfortable silence. Elliot knew that she wasn't feeling well and Olivia's didn't feel up to making conversation. Having her eyes closed helped with the worst of the nausea and kept the headache manageable.

Not too much later, Elliot pulled to a stop in front of Olivia's building. As he unbuckled his belt and got out, Olivia said, "You don't have to walk me up."

"I know I don't," he said simply.

She slowly got out and made her way in. Elliot walked behind her, giving her space, but close enough in case she stumbled as she was still woozy. Once she opened her apartment door, Elliot felt OK to go. "If Alex is working late and you need anything, please call me?"

"I will," Olivia promised. "Thank you. I'll talk to you in the morning if I'm not going to make it in, but I'll probably be there."

Elliot nodded, he didn't expect anything else. He knew how badly she must have been feeling to leave early; she'd have to be on her deathbed to take a sick day. "Get some sleep," he said as Olivia closed the door behind him. He waited, listening to hear the door lock before he started down the stairs.

Olivia made her way through her apartment to the bedroom, stopping in the kitchen for a glass of water. She thought about having a shower, but decided against it. Maybe after a nap, she'd feel a bit more human. Sitting on the edge of the bed, she took a sip of the water, and immediately fought a wave of nausea. "OK, no Tylenol," she thought, holding the glass of cold water to her forehead for a minute.

She set the glass on her night table, her phone and gun followed. She pulled her sweater over her head and unhooked her bra. After undoing her pants, she stood and slid them down her legs, stepping out of them as she walked a few feet to her dresser where she chose an old NYPD t-shirt. It was December, but she was warm. She crawled into bed, and was asleep in minutes.

Around 5:30, Alex quietly walked into the dark apartment. Court had adjourned just before 5:00 and on hearing Olivia's message, Alex put some files in her briefcase and headed out. There was still work to do, but nothing urgent for court in the morning, and Olivia didn't sound good. Her stomach had been upset when they'd woken up that morning, but Olivia had insisted she was OK to go to work. Alex contemplated calling to see if Olivia needed her to pick up anything, but thought she might be sleeping. She could always go back out if need be.

As she walked into the bedroom, she saw she'd guessed correctly. Olivia was asleep on her side, facing the door. Alex smiled slightly, she loved watching Olivia sleep. When they first started to spend the night together, Alex wasn't sure how it would go. It had been a while since she'd been in a serious enough relationship to share her bed with someone, and she'd grown accustomed to sprawling. However, she soon got used to sharing with Olivia and found that she felt something was missing on the nights they spent apart.

She sat down on the edge of the bed and smoothed Olivia's hair back. It was sweaty, which led Alex to feel Olivia's forehead. "Liv, you're burning up," she thought. Looking at the bedside clock, she realised she had time to get down to the drugstore on the corner. Olivia was sleeping so deeply that she didn't even move when Alex stood up.

The drugstore had everything Alex needed, and she returned within ten minutes with medicine to tackle fever and flu symptoms, a thermometer, a few magazines if Olivia felt up to reading and a few other things they might need.

Before tending to Olivia, Alex changed into a pair of grey yoga pants and a t-shirt. She looked over at the bed and realised Olivia hadn't moved at all. She hated to wake her, but knew she had to. Alex sat down on the side of the bed and reached over Olivia to rub her back. After a few seconds, she was rewarded with a "Mmmph."

Olivia's eyes fluttered open, and as they adjusted to the dark, she was treated to her favourite site, Alex's crystal blue eyes peering down at her through those dark rimmed glasses. "I feel like shit," Olivia said softly.

"I can tell," Alex said, leaning down to give Olivia a kiss. "You're burning up," she added, as the kiss broke off. "What else hurts?" she asked. As she waited for Olivia to answer, she shifted closer to the head of the bed, lifted Olivia's head and pillow and set them back down in her lap. She continued to rub Olivia's back with her right hand while smoothing her hair with her left.

"Not my hair or back, not anymore," Olivia said, offering a slight smile.

"Glad I'm helping," Alex said softly. "Just tell me where else I need to rub." At that moment, she moved her right hand over Olivia's side and across her stomach. She was wearing bikini underwear, so Alex was easily able to trace the slight curve of belly, down to her hips, before resuming the lower back rub.

"Everything hurts," Olivia said honestly, relaxing under Alex's caring touches.

"Well let's see what we can do," Alex said. "First things first, we need to take your temperature." She reached into the bag for the thermometer, and removed it from its packaging.

Olivia turned slightly so that she was lying on her back and when Alex turned back to her, she had her mouth open. "Good girl," Alex said, sticking the thermometer under Olivia's tongue. As it registered, she went on apologetically, "I'm going to have to turn on the lamp for a sec to read it."

Olivia nodded. When it beeped and Alex removed it, Olivia covered her eyes with her hand. "One – oh- two-point-seven," Alex said, shocked, before turning off the light.

"I can't take a pill," Olivia said softly, uncovering her eyes. "I'll just be sick."

Alex nodded, "I know. I picked up another option. Wasn't sure your thoughts on it though."

"I'm willing to try if it will help," Olivia said, rolling over. Alex slid further down the bed so Olivia could slide up without hitting her head on the headboard.

Alex opened two packages from the bag and prepared the medicine. "Ready?" she asked softly.

"Yeah."

"Comfortable?"

"I'm OK," Olivia said. She'd turned her head to face Alex, and Alex leaned down and kissed her forehead.

"Just relax," Alex said. She slid down Olivia's underwear to mid thigh and inserted the first suppository in one quick motion. She slowed down on the second, feeling Olivia's muscles clamp down on her slender finger. Alex gently slid her finger in and out, never fully withdrawing it and not pushing it in too far.

"Oooh," Olivia said, smiling as she enjoyed the new sensation. She now understood why Alex sometimes asked her to use both hands, or a hand back there if her mouth was busy in front.

A moment later, Alex withdrew her finger, but didn't pull up Olivia's underwear. "Be right back," she said, slipping out from under Olivia and leaving her bewildered. Olivia could hear her running water in the bathroom, and a few minutes later, she returned with two basins of water-one large and one small. "You're too good to me," Olivia said.

"You deserve it," Alex said with a smile. She set the basins on the floor at first. She slid Olivia's panties the rest of the way down her legs and then as Olivia pushed herself up on her forearms, she pulled off her t-shirt before rolling onto her back in the middle of the bed. Alex paused for a moment to admire Olivia's beautiful body. Her feet had tangled in the sheets when she rolled over, but apart from that, she was totally uncovered. As Olivia lay there with her eyes closed, Alex couldn't help but think of how lucky she was.

After a moment or two, Alex pulled the sheet up to cover Olivia's lower body. "Don't want you to get a chill," she said. With that, she pulled the larger basin onto her lap and dipped the washcloth in.

Olivia flinched as drops of water hit her stomach as Alex reached over her with the washcloth and began to rub down her left arm. "Too cold?" Alex asked, concerned. She'd thought the water was tepid, cool enough to bring down Olivia's fever, but warm enough so as not to cause a chill.

"No, I was just surprised," Olivia said, opening her eyes. "It's perfect." She wasn't used to anyone taking such good care of her, but she quite enjoyed it. She watched Alex intently as Alex rubbed her arm with the washcloth, massaging her muscles as she went.

Alex completed both arms before re-wetting the washcloth and starting on Olivia's stomach. She was careful not to press too hard, but smiled when Olivia groaned as her wrist "accidentally" grazed across Olivia's already erect nipple. Alex moved up with the washcloth, covering, and then massaging each breast. A smile spread across Olivia's lips as Alex looked innocently down at her. "That smells nice," Olivia said.

"I put a few drops of lavender and peppermint oils in the water," Alex explained. "Peppermint has all sorts of healing properties, and I thought the scent of it, while warm, might help clear your head."

Olivia nodded, "Everything is helping. I'll find a way to make it all up to you when I'm feeling better," she promised.

"I'll hold you to that," Alex said, smiling, her eyes twinkling.

Taking a second washcloth, Alex dipped it in the smaller basin, filled with cold water, wrung it out and gently wiped Olivia's cheeks and forehead. "Plain water," she explained, dipping the washcloth into the water again before again wiping Olivia's forehead and smoothing her hair back with the wet cloth

"That feels wonderful," Olivia said. "I'd thought about a shower when I got home, but sleep won out. Now I'm glad I didn't bother as this is much better."

"I'm glad." Finishing Olivia's upper body, face and head, Alex pulled back the sheet, leaving Olivia once again fully exposed. Switching back to the first washcloth, she slid down the bed and ran the washcloth up Olivia's left calf. "What time did you come home?" Alex asked. "I got your voice mail, but missed the time."

"Around 4. I thought for a while that I'd be OK to get through the day, but my headache was worse and I was very light headed, so Elliot drove me home. How was your afternoon?"

"OK. Closing arguments wrapped today for Garvan. Jury could have had it, but since we didn't wrap until after 4, Ridenour adjourned early. They'll get it tomorrow and hopefully we'll have a verdict sooner rather than later."

Alex lifted Olivia's leg slightly, rubbing the washcloth up the back of her lower leg and thigh, before lowering the leg and repeating the process on Olivia's right leg. Olivia's skin was soft and smooth, Alex often felt that she could massage it all day. As she moved further up Olivia's legs, Alex allowed her thumbs to fall between Olivia's thighs and linger between her legs as she brought the washcloth up to her waist. Re-wetting the washcloth, Alex concentrated on the delicate area where Olivia's legs met her torso, and as she did so, she felt the warmth spreading between Olivia's legs.

Wanting better access, Alex asked, "Turn towards me so I can get your back?"

Olivia complied, not wanting to miss a moment of Alex's caring touches.

After soaking the washcloth, Alex removed it from the water and ran it across Olivia's shoulder blades before moving down, over her lower back and down her buttocks, taking care to lightly run her fingers over the delicate, sensitive skin. Watching Olivia, Alex could see that her nipples were once again erect and her cheeks were more flushed than they had been moments ago. Some parts of her were definitely feeling better.

Dropping the washcloth back in the basin and placing the basin on the floor, Alex allowed a few drops of water to fall from her hands to Olivia's legs. Olivia's eyes were closed, as they often were when Alex tended to her. Alex had asked her about it once and Olivia had explained, "I like to be surprised. Not knowing what's coming just enhances the experience." Alex had agreed, and now tended to do the same after an amazing experience the first time she closed her eyes. Having her eyes closed heightened her other senses, and the feel of each of Olivia's touches was magnified by ten.

Knowing she was going to change the sheets anyway, Alex took the warm washcloth from its basin, spread it on the bed and rolled Olivia back onto her back, so that the washcloth covered her lower back. Alex reached for the one that was in the cold water and spread that across Olivia's stomach. The dual sensation caused Olivia to sigh with pleasure, and her hand moved between her legs.

"No," Alex said firmly, pushing Olivia's hand away. "I told you, I'm taking care of you tonight." Alex moved to kneel, straddling Olivia's right leg, her right knee between Olivia's legs. She slid far enough back on the bed, grateful for a lack of footboard, so that her head was even with Olivia's waist. Supporting her weight on her forearms, Alex leaned down, trailing wet kisses, interspersed with gentle bites, down from Olivia's navel until she reached her target.

She circled Olivia with her tongue once, then twice, before dipping into Olivia's warm, moist center with her tongue. Between the all-over massage and the dual sensations of the washcloths, it didn't take long for Olivia to approach her breaking point. Alex replaced her tongue with her second and third fingers of her right hand, as she shifted her weight to her left side.

Olivia came quickly and fiercely, her muscles clamping down on Alex's hand. Alex covered Olivia's legs and navel with gentle kisses, dragging her tongue across the hot skin as she moved from one area to the next. When Olivia's contractions subsided, Alex removed her fingers and pushed the cool washcloth aside as she moved up Olivia's body, pinning her to the mattress with her hands above her head. With their fingers interlocking and Alex continuing to support her weight on her forearms, Alex dipped her head one last time, gently sucking each of Olivia's nipples.

Her work done, Alex pressed gently against Olivia's body. Her own t-shirt had slid up, leading to the not unpleasant feeling of skin on skin. Alex looked down at Olivia, pleased to see a smile in her eyes as she captured her lips with her own, their tongues dancing furiously.

"You. Are. Amazing." Olivia said as their kiss broke off. Alex rolled off of her, onto her left side next to her, and Olivia turned to face her, putting her arm around Alex's waist as Alex did the same to her.

"I've had a good teacher," Alex said simply. Olivia was not the first woman she'd been with, but she'd taught her so much by the different ways she always thought of to please Alex.

"Oh yeah, anyone I know?" Olivia asked with a smile.

"Don't think so," Alex said, returning the smile.

After a minute or two of silence, Olivia said, "I just hope you don't get sick too."

"Everyone is sick, so I'm bound to get it," Alex said. "And if I'm going to get sick, I'd definitely prefer to catch it from spending an evening in bed with you." A few seconds later, Alex added, "And then you'll just have to take care of me."

"With pleasure," Olivia said.

Alex could see that Olivia's eyelids were drooping slightly. She reached over her for one of the washcloths and quickly gave Olivia one last wipe down. Slowly sitting, she reached down and offered Olivia a hand. "Let me get you something to sleep in, and then I'm going to put fresh sheets on the bed."

"You don't have to do that," Olivia protested.

"I know I don't have to, I want to." Alex passed Olivia a pair of boxers and a t-shirt. "Will these do?"

Olivia nodded, reaching for the clothes as Alex went to the closet for a fresh pair of sheets. Olivia stood slowly to pull on the boxers and then made her way to the bathroom. When she returned a few moments later, Alex had the bottom sheet on, the top sheet tucked in at the bottom of the bed, and the pillows covered. "Come on," she said softly, "I'll tuck you in."

Olivia wanted to protest. This was too much. But she was too tired, and above all, it felt so nice. She lay in bed, and Alex pulled the top sheet over her. "I'm going to put the blanket on the bottom of the bed, in case you get cold," Alex said.

"Thank you," Olivia said. Alex tucked the sheet around her, making sure Olivia was comfortable. Olivia found herself wondering if Alex was coming to bed, hoping she would, but then realised it was barely 7PM. "It feels so much later," Olivia said.

Alex nodded. "You had a long day. Are you comfortable?" she asked, taking Olivia's hand in hers.

Olivia nodded, "Thank you so much. For everything. I love you."

"I love you too," Alex said, leaning down to kiss Olivia goodnight. To Olivia's surprise, Alex stayed where she was on the edge of the bed, just holding her hand. As if reading the questions on Olivia's mind, Alex said, "I thought I'd stay with you until you fell asleep."

"I'd like that," Olivia said, closing her eyes.

"Me too," Alex said, running her finger gently down Olivia's cheek.
