Like Her
By Francyne

Can we talk?

I enter the room, you turn, you smile

Set this right?

I walk slowly towards you, drinking in your appearance, your face, your presence in the room

Can't we talk?

I hear you speak my name, softly, like whisperings in the night

Are you here?

Your voice washes over me, soothing me, drowning me

Here with this mood and this smile

All this time

I watch you, I need you

To whisper your name and hold you in my heart

Is this war?

Can you give me room to heal?

I take you in to my arms; hold you close against the shadows of the room

The streetlight framing us, holding us, shaping us

I hear you whisper `I think you should take me to bed now'

I pull you towards the bedroom, taking the stillness of the room along with us

The twighlight follows us, taking us beyond the confines of the room, lighting the way forward

I still feel your ghost, your witness

There's still a little bit of your face I haven't kissed

I lead you forward, pushing you down

Can you hear me?

I kiss a soft trail up your throat, teeth dragging over a prominent chin, lips finally coming to rest on yours capturing your identity, low, sure and deliberate.

Are you scared, Can you fly?

I feel your need clawing into the skin of your lower back, the squirming of hips beneath me, beyond me.

I fit around you, inside you, taking you, riding you

Your intake of breathe, your body fitting around mine,

The cry that leaves your lips, raw and long, coarse and harsh

I need you, inside me, beyond me, surrounding me

There's still a little bit of your taste in my mouth

Still a little bit of you laced with my doubt

It's still a little hard to say, what's going on

Hearing your sound, watching you move, here in this spotlight, You sure do look a lot like her..
