Part 1

Alex set up in her lover's bed and stared down at her lover. They've been together for almost year now and still no one knew about them. Well no one knew about them that didn't need to know about them. She understood that same sex relationships weren't accepted as easy as heterosexual relationships but she loved this woman with everything she had and she had to hide that love when other people were around. She knew that if the guys at the house knew about the two women they would get nothing but crap about it all the time but too Alex it was worth it. Worth not have to have to hide there relationship just because they were worry other people wouldn't approve of them.

"Alex? Baby what's wrong?" Her lover mumbled sleepily turning over to find Alex setting up.

"Nothing, go back to sleep you still got a couple hours." She whispered

"I'm not going back to sleep until you tell me what's bothering you." Faith said fighting to wake herself so she could help Alex with what ever that was bothering her.

"It's nothing Faith go back to sleep you've got to work tomorrow." Alex didn't know why she tried to hide things from her. Faith had a way of getting things out of her with just one look.

"So do you. Alex come on just tell me what's wrong." Faith whispered soothingly. She sat up and pulled Alex in her arms. "Whatever it is you know you can tell me and you know I would do anything in my power to make it go away." She whispered in her ear.

"It's not monster or a bad dream so I doubt you could chase it away." Alex chuckled sarcastically.

"So what is it?"

"I love you." Alex said flatly

"I love you too but you're still not telling me what's bothering you."

"That's what's bothering me…" she said raising her voice a little bit

"What?" Faith asked confused as to why loving her would be a problem.

"Faith let me finish. I love you and I'm the only one that knows that…" Alex said and pulled out of her arms.

"I know you love me." Faith tried to assure her.

"That's not what I'm talking about and you know it." Alex said trying not to get mad. She knew that Faith knew she loved her and she knew Charlie, Emily and Fred knew that she loved her but that was it. "I'm sick of hiding Faith. I want to be able to tell everybody how much you mean to me. I want to be able to hold your hand in public or kiss you whenever I feel like it without you pulling back because you're afraid someone might see us." Alex said get angrier and angrier with each word. Alex could see anger then pain build up in Faith's eyes, so she calmed her self down.

"I could careless what people think of me Alex. I only did that for you. I didn't want you to have a hard time at work when and if the guys found out about us." Alex could hear the sharp tone of pain in her voice. "Alex I love you I really do and I though I was doing you a favorite by not telling anyone."

"Faith, can you please just listen to me?" Alex said cutting her off. She gently grabbed her chin and turned her face towards her own. "I didn't mean to get mad at you or to make you mad at me I just I was just starting to think maybe you were ashamed of our relationship …" Alex took a long pause "I just don't want hide anymore okay…"

"I don't want to either." Faith said softly and leaned over and kissed her. "Sorry for yelling at you." She whispered and kissed her again. "Sorry for letting you have doubts about us." She said and kissed her again. "Sorry for keep you up all night." She said and kissed her deeper this time increasing her passion.

"You didn't keep me up all night we still got a few hours." Alex said when they separated

"I know I was apologizing in advance." She said and started kissing and sucking on Alex's neck.

"Oh…" Alex breathed

Part 2

Alex rolled over in bed with a big smile on her face her body was still humming from the night before. Faith was true to her word she manage to keep Alex up for must of the night making love and talking about how they where going to tell the gang about there relationship. They decided they where going to tell everybody at the poker game on Friday, which gave them five days to figure out what exactly to say. Since Faith stay up all night trying to make her fill better Alex decided to let her sleep in and get the kids ready for school herself, so she place light kiss on Faith's cheek and got out of bed. She stepped out of Faith's bedroom and made the trip across the hall to the children's room. She walked over to Emily's bed since she was usually the easies to wake up.

"Emily, wake up and get ready for school." She said tapped her lightly on her shoulder

"Five more minutes Alex please." She mumbled sleepily reminding Alex of the way Faith acted the night before.

"Em if you get up now I'll take you and Charlie for breakfast at Burger King" she pleaded.

"Mom must be sick." Emily smiled

"No she's just asleep now hurry up before I change my mind." She teased lightly

"Okay, okay I'm up." She giggled. Alex smiled and walked over to Charlie bed hoping for a miracle to help her get the four year old boy up.

"Charlie. Charlie baby get up." She said nudging his shoulder he just moaned and rolled over. "Charlie bear get up." She tried again using her nick name for him. No luck.

"Why don't you just pour cold water on him?" Emily teased.

"Why don't you just get ready for school?" Alex teased back

"I'm just trying to be helpful." She said trying to sound innocent.

"Yeah right, how does your mom usually get him up?"

"Oh like this 'Charles Christopher Yokas you got two minutes to get your butt out of bed and get ready for school or no cartoons for a week.'" She said doing her best imitation of her mother. Charlie rolled over again this time slowly opening his eyes and blinking several times letting his eyes adjust to the light.

"How did you do that?"

"Practice" The seven year old smiled.

After getting dressed and making sure the kids where ready Alex wrote a note to Faith telling her that she took the kids to school and that she was going the back to her apartment for a change a clothes and that she would be back to have lunch with her before work. After setting the note on the nightstand, she walked over to the bed whispered a goodbye and an I love you, then kissed her on the cheek and walked out the room.

"Come on guys lets go." Alex said walking in the living room. She grabbing her keys off the coffee table and follow the kids out the apartment and down to her car.

As promised she took the kids for a quick breakfast at Burger King before dropping them off at school, it now was nearly two hours later, she finally walked in her apartment. All she had to do now is take a shower and find something to wear, which wouldn't be such a bad thing if she had clean clothes to wear. She usually wash her clothes and did all of her other household chores on the weekend but she went over Faith's place right after work on Friday and decided to spend the weekend with her since the kids were at Fred's. She was going to come home and wash her clothes on Sunday but Charlie begged her to stay the night with them and she never could say no to him.

Sighing heavily Alex started to walk in her bedroom to see if she had something clean to put on so she could wash her dirty clothes when she noticed the red eight blinking on her answering machine, not really feeling like washing clothes she welcoming the distracting she played back the messages.

The first six messages were not really importing just telemarketers and bill collectors but the last two were a big surprise.

Message seven

Hey Alex it's Adam I'm calling to let you know I'm going to be in town this week and I was hoping to see my baby sis call me when you get this message.

--beep—

Message eight

Alex its Adam again I'm calling to warn you that I just told mom about me coming in this week and she expecting both of us to come over for dinner on Wednesday. Sorry.

--beep—

Alex smiled to herself maybe she didn't have to wait until Friday to tell somebody about her and Faith's relationship she could call Adam and tell him. After all he was gay and he would understand how she could fall in love with someone of the same sex.

Deciding telling Adam was exactly what she was going to do she picked up the phone and dial his number.

"Hello?"

"Hey Adam"

"Alex?" he asked in surprised

"Yeah, don't sound so surprised." She chuckled

"Why not, how often do I get a phone call from you?" He snorted.

"Not often enough I guess but I do have a life you know" she chuckled nervously contemplating how exact she was going to tell him about Faith.

"Lex are you ok you sound a little off?" he asked concerned she hesitated before giving him an answer.

"Yes…no I have something to tell you but I'm not sure how to." She answer quietly

"Is it a good or bad thing?"

"Good I guess, but it's hard to say."

"Well if its good just spit it out."

"Well…Well I've been seeing someone for awhile now and…"

"Are you pregnant?"

"What! No I'm not pregnant it's nothing like that." She sighed "I'm gay well bisexual actually."

"Very funny Alex." He said sarcastically

"I'm not joking. I'm in love with a woman Adam. Her name is Faith Yokas she's a police officer, she has two kids, Charlie and Emily…"

"Oh my God you're serious." He said in amazement

"Yes I am serious. I've been seen her for almost a year now..."

"A year? Why didn't you tell me?"

"Because I was confused, I am confused. I never been attracted to women before and then bam it hit me out of nowhere."

"Yeah I know what you mean. Does mom know yet?"

"No, and I don't plan on tell her any time soon. Can you imagine how she'll react if I told her I was seeing a woman, I mean she's already on me about still being a firefight. If she found out about Faith she's bound to have a heart attack."

"You know you eventually have to tell her. If you're really in love with this woman you can't hide her forever."

"I didn't say I wanted to, I just said I wasn't ready to tell mom yet." There was a long pause.

"Lex can I ask you a question?" he asked ending the silence.

"You just did." Alex laughed.

"Seriously."

"Okay go ahead." She sighed.

"You're really in love with this woman you're not just curious about what a life with another woman would be like?"

"Adam, this is the really thing I've never felt this way about anyone else."

"I just want to make sure. So how did it happen?"

"Well I'm not sure I mean we stared off as friends and it just kind of grew."

"Who step over the line of friendship first?" he asked amusement clear in his voice.

"Both of us I guess. Her kids go over there dads house for the weekend so usually me and Faith watched movies at her place on Fridays. One Friday we were watching this movie about lesbians I think it was called 'If these wall could talk 2'. While we were watching I asked her if she ever been with another woman before, she laughed a little and then said yeah. She said when she was in college she had a two month relationship with a woman I forget what she said her name was. Well anyway she asked me the same question of course I said no, then she looked at me like I've grown two head or something I asked her what was wrong she said she could have swore I was bi Because she thought I had a crush on Kim, which I thought was ridiculous and I actually told her that. She just smiled at and told me I was in denial and then we went back to the movie well at least she did. I tried but I couldn't stop looking at her for some reason, she noticed because she turned around and asked me if I was okay and before I could stop myself I just came out and said 'I want to kiss you'…"

"What!?" he squealed in surprise

"I know, it was out before I could stop it. I don't even think I knew what I was saying at the time. Faith just looked at me like a deer caught in headlights. I kind of got scared and said I was sorry and told her I should go but grabbed my hand so I couldn't move and before I knew she was kissing me."

"Damn."

"You can say that again."

"Damn." He repeated, they both laughed. "When do I get to meet this Faith?"

"When do get in?"

"Around eight today."

"Well we both get off at eleven so why don't you have lunch with us tomorrow?"

"Okay you mind if I bring Kevin he really wants to meet you."

"I don't mind. How long have you two been together anyway?"

"Three years and I think it's about time you meet him. He's really great Lex."

"He has to be if he can put up with you for three years." She joked

"I was going to say the same thing about your girlfriend." He laughed

Alex stayed on her the phone with Adam for a little over an hour talking about the love's in there life about there jobs and there mom…until Alex realized the time.

"Adam I have to go. I promise to have lunch with Faith today and I still have to get ready."

"Okay Al see you tomorrow."

"Alright bye."

"Bye."

After hanging up the phone, Alex walked in her room and found some clean clothes in her closet she deciding to wash her clothes when she got home from work, so she took a shower and went straight over Faith's apartment.

Using her key Alex sneaked in without Faith hearing her, she doubted she would have heard her anyway seen she had her music blasting while she was washing the dishes. Deciding to have a little fun Alex crept up be hided her careful not to make any noise that would give her away. She slow wrapped her arms around Faith's waist and pulled her close to her. Faith let out a loud gasped and quickly stiffen.

"I'd expected a different responds from a police officer." Alex laughed

"Very funny Alex, you scared the shit out of me." Faith said now leaning into Alex embrace.

"I've notice." She smiled. Faith turned around and wrapped her arms around Alex and leaned down in meeting her lips in loving and passionate kiss.

"Thank You." Faith whispered as they parted. Alex looked up at her confused.

"For what?" she asked confused.

"For taking the kids to school, God knows I wasn't in the mood to get up this morning."

"You don't have to thank me, trust me last night was enough." She smiled and lean in for another kiss.

"Thank you anyway." She said softly lean in the rest of the way to meet Alex's lips.

"I talked to Adam today." Alex said when they separated.

"Your brother?" Faith asked unwrapping her arms around Alex and went back to the task of cleaning her dishes. Alex thought this was probably the best time to tell her about what she and Adam talked about.

"Yeah I told him about us." She said trying to sound cool.

"Wha-really? How did he take it?" Faith asked surprise she did think Alex would want to tell her family yet, because she herself wasn't ready to tell her family. She didn't care what other people thought of her but when it came to her family it was a different story. Things were already strained between her and her family, she really didn't want to give them another reason to argue.

"He's surprise but he really wants to meet you."

"Oh really, well I guess it'll be nice to meet your brother."

"I'm glad you want to meet him because he's going to be in town this week and I

asked him for lunch tomorrow so he can meet you and he said yes."

"You what?"

"Come on Faith you just said you wanted to meet him."

"Yeah, that's when I thought I would meet him like a couple of months from now." Faith screeched

"Aw come on he's going to love you. Just look at this way you're not the only one who's meeting someone for the first time."

"What are you talking about?"

"Adam is bringing Kevin, his boyfriend of three years, I've never meet him."

"Is that suppose to make me feel better? You having to meet your brother's boyfriend, it's not the same thing."

"I know it's not, but its close. God Faith it's not like I'm asking you to meet my mother, it's my brother for god sake." She whined. Faith glared at her with a cross between annoyance and amusement.

"Alright I'll go." She sighed heavily.

"Thank you." Alex said wrapping her arms back around Faith's waist "I love you." She whispered and kissed her neck.

"I love you too, but I believe you promised me lunch."
