Changing Seasons
By itsalovestory

Olivia and Natalia stood against a pole wearing heavy sweaters and light hearts. A two-year old Chessie chased her big sister Emma through the yard. Giggles echoed across the dewy grass. Everything was perfect.

Thunk!

Chessie tackled Emma. Emma fell face first into the ground, the big pile of leaves crunching, crackling under their weight. "That's it!" huffed Emma as she turned over. "Time for the tickle monster!"

"No!" Chessie squealed as Emma dug her fingers into her ribs. The girls laughed and squirmed as they ticked each other.

Olivia grinned over at Natalia, before grabbing her hand and pulling her into the leaves as well. "Oh no, Olivia Spencer! Don't!" Natalia yelled as Olivia tossed her into them.

"Oh yes, my love," Olivia chuckled as she threw specks of yellow, red, and orange at Natalia.

They laughed and loved. They giggled and tickled. They tossed and turned over the leaves.

Finally, Natalia turned the tables. Olivia was trapped. Her hands were pinned over her head in one of Natalia's hands, while Natalia's other one, snaked up Olivia's body to under her arm. "No. Natalia. Please don't!" Olivia begged, her eyes tightly closed.

"Oh yes, Sweetie," Natalia smiled as she leaned down. Their lips met in a sweet, tender kiss.

After the kiss ended, Natalia released her hands and said, "See. That wasn't so bad."

Olivia looked up her lover. Natalia had smudges of dirt on her nose and cheeks. She had pieces of leaves stuck in her hair. Her cheeks were rosy. Her eyes were dark and playful. She was beautiful.

Beautiful.

She was so full of love Olivia felt like her heart was going to burst. She had to say it. "I love you, Natalia. You take my breath away."

Natalia blushed and ducked her head. Natalia gave Olivia another kiss as she helped her up. She whispered softly into Olivia's ear, "I love you, too."

They stood there. They loved there. They lived there.

Chessie tugged on Olivia's sweater. "Mommy, cider?"

Emma piped in, "Yeah Mom and Ma, can we have some hot apple cider now?"

Olivia shrugged. "Sure."

Natalia agreed, "Yeah, let's go inside and watch a movie and have some cider with thinnamon."

Olivia laughed, "You never could say that correctly."

"Oh hush." Natalia smacked Olivia's arm before taking her hand in hers, leading them inside.

Some things never changed. Like their love.

The End
