When Angels Cry

Part 2

The next morning Faith woke up with her arms wrapped around Kim. Emotionally she felt torn between guilt and happiness. She felt guilty because she just officially cheated on her husband; but even with all the guilt of committing adultery she was happy. She was happy because she'd found out the woman she loved secretly for the last couple of months felt the same about her.

"Kim?" Faith whispered and kissed her shoulder blade. Kim pretending to be asleep she sighed and cuddled more into Faith's embrace. "Kim I know you're up." She smiled pulling her closer.

"No I'm not." She groaned

"If you weren't, you wouldn't be talking."

"Have you ever heard of talking in your sleep?" she moaned in to her pillow

"Wow you went from snoring to talking in your sleep in mar hours I'm amazed." She chuckled

"I don't snore."

"Kim you snore like a grown man." Faith laughed

"I do not." She said turning around to face Faith.

"Okay whatever you say." She said and kissed her temple and then took a deep breath preparing herself to asked Kim an important question. "Um Kim are you okay about last night?"

"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" she asked raising a eyebrow.

"Kim it was your first time sleeping with a woman, I just want to make sure you don't freak out and have a change of heart." She said explaining her question.

"I've slept with you hundreds of times why would I have a sudden change of heart?" Which was true, Faith would come over to Kim's apartment almost every morning after Fred and the kids left for the day. They would fall asleep for a couple of hours holding each other.

"You know that's not what I mean."

"I know. Faith last night was amazing and I don't regret one minute of it ok. I'm not having second thoughts about us. I meant what I say last night, I love you."

"I love you too Kim." She said and kissed her forehead, when she pulled back enough to look in Kim's eyes she decided this was the right time to tell her. "I'm leaving him."

"What!" Kim asked surprised.

"I'm leaving him." she repeated. "I'm going to file for divorce today."

"When did you de-"

"I decided I wanted to leave him last night. I mean last night I felt things that I haven't felt in years. I don't think I can go back to my loveless marriage after feeling the things I felt last night."

"Am I that good?" Kim joked

"I didn't mean sexual, although being your first time with another woman you defiantly had a lot of skills." She smirked. "But I meant emotionally, I felt a stronger connection last night with you than I ever had with Fred or anybody else."

"I know what you mean." She said quietly. "I felt it too." She smiled and laid her head back on Faith's chest and draped her arm over Faith's stomach. "You're not leaving anytime soon, are you?" She asked closing her eyes.

"I want to talk to Fred before he leaves for work, but I can stay a little longer." She said and laced her fingers with Kim's

"Good." She smiled and snuggled closer trying to enjoy the remanding time she had with Faith.

"Are you coming over after work?" Kim asked as they sat in her car, that was parked across the street from Faith's apartment building.

"I don't know. I have to see how things go with Fred." She sighed. "Seeing that his name is the one on the least I might have to." She said sadly.

"Well if you do all you have to do is call." Kim said and placed her hand on Faith's knee and gave it a light squeeze. "I'll see you at work but if you need me before then I'll be at the house. I promise to help them clean after the party yesterday. Okay?"

"Alright." She leaned over and gave her a long kiss before exiting the car.

Faith walked in her apartment and prepare herself for what was about to happen. She was about to tell her husband she wanted a divorce. She walked farther in the apartment to find Fred in the living room surrounded by beer bottles. She shook her head and decided she'd made the right choice.

"Fred we need to talk." She said walking directly in front of him making sure she had his full attention.

"Where the hell have you been?" he growled

"I stayed with a friend. Fred we really need to talk it's important."

"What friend? Was it the bitch you just kissed?" He asked and stood up so they were face to face. He was at the window the whole time watching his wife with another woman practically making out in a car in front of the building.

"W-what are you talking about?" She asked nervously.

Fred didn't respond he just reached over and slapped her across the face. "Don't try to play dumb with me, Faith, I saw you." He said pushing her against the wall by her neck. For a second Faith was paralysed with fear, she'd never seen him like this. Getting over the shock she tried her hardest to break free from his grip.

"Fred, stop you're hurting me!" She gasped trying to breath. He was drunk, but not drunk enough to lose his strength."

"So what!" he yelled and banged her head against the wall. "You're nothing but a cheating slut." he grumbled loudly continuing his verbal abuse. "Why should I care if I hurt you?"

"Fred I'm sor-"her apology was cut off by another slap to the face. Before she knew it she was on the floor bloody and sore. She looked over at the clock and saw it was four hours later. She must have blacked out. She went to pull herself up but immediately fell back crying out in pain. Faith used what little strength she had in her other arm to pull herself up only to fall back down again. Using her good hand Faith franticly searched her pockets for her cell phone, finding it in a matter of seconds Faith dialled 911.

"911 what is your emergency?"

"M-my husband beat me." Faith cried. Actually saying it made the beating seem more real for her.

"It's going to be okay Miss. Is your husband still there?"

"I don't think so." She whispered

"Okay. I need you to tell me your name and address."

"My nam-"That was all she was able to get out before passing out cold.

"Miss, Miss are you okay?" not hearing a response the operator immediately called for emergency services to go to the address she got off of the computer.
